Val Giegerich
Continuing Education Instructor + Trauma Supports Team Member
Val has worked for the AEA system for over 15 years. Her first role in the AEA was Special Education Representative. Currently, Val serves as a systems coach in the area of Social Emotional Behavioral Health (SEBH). She supports SEBH through PBIS, Social Emotional Learning, and Restorative Practices. Val was a special education teacher for 11 years in an urban school district. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master's degree from Drake University.
In addition, Val is a certified children and adult yoga instructor. She is passionate about empowering people to use everyday tools to connect with others and create loving, caring, compassionate communities.
