Personal Empowerment:  A Social and Emotional Course


A Course on Emotional Intelligence, is designed to help adults develop their own emotional intelligence skills and social-emotional wellbeing so they can thrive in their personal and professional lives.

Participants will develop an understanding of how their self-awareness, self-management, decision-making, social awareness, and relationship skills all work together to develop their emotional intelligence skills. This will be achieved through a series of activities found in and out of their workbook, active discussions, journaling reflection, and role play.

Lastly, when individuals prioritize their own emotional well-being, it in turn is a form of self-care, and they can bring the best versions of themselves to their families, workplaces, and other environments.


  • Interactive partner work

  • Reflection on readings (in and outside class)

  • Final EQ Interview

  • Workbook assignments

  • 30 Day gratitude journal

  • Implementation of course learnings outside class setting (IE: in classroom, work setting, home)

Due one month after course completes.


Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. Participants will be able to identify the Know, Choose, Give concepts and their importance in understanding and demonstrating emotional intelligence skills both in class and in outside settings

  2. Participants will be able to apply concepts such as core beliefs, self-talk, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and goal setting through intentional activities and discussions .

  3. Participants will engage in their own personal exploration of their emotional awareness through a 30-day gratitude journal exercise and exploration of additional topics found in the KCG workbook.

  4. Participants will be able to recognize the importance of emotional intelligence in all professions through an interview exercise.

  • 21 Days to Live More Mindfully Journal
